tutu : don’t lose your mind

“the loosen!ng of associations”

As I Write This Introduction To “Series 89”, I Have “Track No.7” Of Miles Davis’ Album TUTU On The “Loop” Setting.

That Track Is Titled “Don’t Lose Your Mind”.

TUTU Was Released In 1986, And (In)Famously Has Most Of The Instruments (Other Than Trumpet) Played By Marcus Miller.

For The Record, I Love TUTU.

Like The Album AMANDLA, It Makes For Easier Listening Than My Favourite Miles Davis Album BITCHES BREW (1970).

Curiously, In The Same Way The Album AMANDLA (1989) Conjures Up The Name “Nelson Mandela” For Me, TUTU Conjures Up The Name “Desmond Tutu”.

These Associations Are Loose, BUT Acceptable By My Core Values.

Miles Davis, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu Are Black Royalty.

On Wednesday, Upon Seeing A Trio Of Frog Musicians Wearing Tutu Skirts And One Playing Trumpet, I Took The Opportunity To Loosen The Associations Further .

The Frogs Featured In “Series 89” Were Photographed At “HONEY” Retail Store At The Eaton Centre In Downtown Toronto On October 19 & 20, 2022.
